In June of 2011, I was a part of The Black Barbershop Health Outreach Program in Chicago. The purpose of the outreach was to educate African American men about health concerns. Nurses and medical staff visited barbershops on the south side of Chicago to check blood pressure, blood/sugar levels, etc. The event was very informative and the medical staff answered all of the questions that the barber patrons had.
It sounds like it was a great event to be a part of. Love the photos you were able to capture.
